Industry 5.0 – How to Measure?
摘要
With its focus on the three cornerstones Sustainability, Resilience, Human Centricity and using technology as an enabling element, Industry 5.0 has quickly been recognized as a promising concept in manufacturing. The idea is that Industry 5.0 will guide companies towards not only improved competitiveness, but also the fulfilment of a wider set of societal goals. However, it is challenging to measure performance status and development, which is necessary to understand if companies are moving in the right direction. Developing a dedicated system for broad and detailed measurement of Industry 5.0 may be demanding in terms of indicator development and generally resource-intensive, especially when operating alongside other measurement systems that are often mandatory. This paper thus proposes a framework for how existing separate measurement systems in sustainability, resilience, human-centricity, and enabling technology can be linked to performance measurement of Industry 5.0. The framework is designed to help reduce drawbacks of starting with these types of established measurements within separate areas, by making visible which elements are covered and which ones are not measured. What is ultimately crucial for establishing measurement systems is a thorough understanding of Industry 5.0, where one should be heading, and what needs to be measured.
