In the previous chapter, I outlined the key characteristics of Shia Islam, particularly as they pertain to the Qur’an. In the next chapter, I will examine the religiosities of Shia youth in Finland and the role that the holy book plays in their everyday lives. Before that, however, it is important to discuss the context in which young Finnish Shia live.
