Many of the synergistic interactions between the three elements of the tissue engineering and regenerative medicine (TERM) paradigm occur at the nanoscale. Thus, nanotechnology becomes an ally of TERM to design effective strategies and therapies. The focus of this chapter is on the use and incorporation of nanomaterials in TERM strategies. These nanomaterials include nanoparticles, nanofibrous scaffolds and nanopatterned surfaces. The alliance between nanotechnology and bioprinting is of particular interest. The chapter ends with relevant conclusions as well as questions to underpin the knowledge acquired through the reading of this chapter.
