The continuous and reliable availability of networks is critical in the financial sector, where interruptions can result in significant financial losses and affect customer satisfaction. To address this need, this study proposes the implementation of a network based on the Hot Standby Routing Protocol (HSRP), which allows automatic failover and guarantees high availability. The PPDIOO methodology was applied, which contains six phases: prepare, plan, design, implement, operate and optimize. Several simulated failure scenarios were evaluated in GNS3, measuring the switching time and network performance, redundancy mechanisms and fault tolerance, service performance, and traffic priority. The results showed that the HSRP configuration in a high-availability network ensured 99.99% efficiency and a switching time of less than 1 s, significantly improving the resilience of the financial system’s network infrastructure. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of HSRP in critical environments and offer a replicable solution to improve operational continuity.

摘要
