Metatheoretic structuralism and Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) offer complementary approaches to analyzing scientific theories. Both frameworks share a hierarchical and set-theoretic foundation, making FCA a powerful tool for visualizing theoretical networks. Through the Space-Time Theories Exploratorium, we show how FCA enhances the mapping of conceptual dependencies and theoretical hierarchies. Our findings demonstrate its potential to refine structuralist methods and advance the formal study of scientific knowledge.

摘要

Metatheoretic structuralism and Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) offer complementary approaches to analyzing scientific theories. Both frameworks share a hierarchical and set-theoretic foundation, making FCA a powerful tool for visualizing theoretical networks. Through the Space-Time Theories Exploratorium, we show how FCA enhances the mapping of conceptual dependencies and theoretical hierarchies. Our findings demonstrate its potential to refine structuralist methods and advance the formal study of scientific knowledge.
