The most prominent applications are in multipole expansions in classical electrodynamics and in the theory of operator-valued vectors (vector operators) in quantum mechanics. In-chapter examples and end-of-chapter problems are included to reinforce introduced concepts and to give readers a chance to practice the relevant mathematics.
