Application of Nanomaterials as Diagnostic and Therapeutic Tool in Biomedical Science

This chapter gives a thorough rundown of nanomaterials’ uses in biomedical research, showcasing their revolutionary potential to improve diagnostic and treatment methods. Innovative solutions for disease detection, targeted drug delivery, and tissue regeneration are enabled by the unique physical, chemical, and biological features of nanomaterials. Considering the biocompatibility, toxicity, and the need for strong regulatory frameworks is essential to ensure the safe clinical translation of these technologies. Studies show that changing the surface of nanomaterials in ways like PEGylation can make them safer and better at targeting. By making these changes, off-target effects can be cut by 60–80%. Nanomaterials could change the way healthcare is provided by solving these problems. This could lead to better treatments, better results for patients, and more progress in biomedical new ideas.
