Neural therapy (NT) is considered a medical system that helps modulate an animal’s overall physiological responses by stimulating key regulatory systems - such as the nervous, immune, and hormonal networks. This stimulation supports the animal’s natural ability to self-regulate, adapt to environmental or internal stressors, and maintain balance, potentially reducing the impact of stress-related health conditions and particular behaviors. It is a recent medical system that has been establishing its foundations, mainly in human medicine. In veterinary medicine, however, its therapeutic application occurred later, which resulted in the scarcity of scientific production on the subject. Frequently, veterinarians interested in using NT have to resort to scientific papers and books that deal with the subject in the human dimension, given the lack of publications in their area. In an attempt to contribute to a better dissemination of this medical system, this chapter aims to highlight the main aspects related to the use of NT in veterinary medicine. Thus, its primary objective is to establish the basis for the understanding of the principles that instruct the application of NT to veterinary practice. This chapter, which does not escape the necessary scientificity, is largely based on the author’s clinical experience, which reveals the need for future improvements (experiments) that provide the scientific accuracy of the observations described here.
