The stellate ganglion block is a technique that, since the beginning of the twentieth century, has accompanied medical practice, offering a therapeutic option in the treatment of not only pain of the upper limbs but also the visceral diseases of the thorax. The relative ease this technique offers to intervene in the sympathetic nervous system enables Neuraltherapeutic medicine to provide essential impulses for treating conditions such as long COVID, post-traumatic stress disorder, or related symptoms in the climacteric. Several aspects related to this technique are reviewed, such as the general anatomy, clinical indications, and contraindications. This chapter describes the two most common approaches, which are the technique according to Leriche and Fontaine and the paratracheal approach. The clinical signs after the intervention, along with some possible complications and ways to avoid them, are reviewed Finally, some considerations about the possible use of ultrasound for the performance of the technique are discussed.

摘要
