The response to the Soviet proposals from American and European partners was, on the one hand, predictable as the emergence of competition was seen as potentially detrimental to their domestic producers. On the other hand, different professional categories perceived the opportunity to cooperate with this new promising player on the international market in distinct ways. This chapter will analyse the various reactions of Western partners to Soviet proposals, as well as the efforts of private entrepreneurs to establish commercial, mutually beneficial cooperation with Glavkosmos in promoting Soviet goods and services in the international market. We will assess the effectiveness of these initiatives and identify the areas in which they have yielded tangible results.

摘要
