Amazing innovations in digital technologies continue to enhance gaming experiences. Gaming hones important twenty-first-century skills but also incites moral panic over the harm of violence, sexualisation, addiction, and negative social repercussions. Teachers and parents, however, can help harness the benefits of gaming while mitigating the risks for boys and young men (BYM). In this chapter, we consider what research tells us about the skills developed through gaming and address some of the issues that negatively impact BYM.
