Vestibular schwannoma is the characteristic tumor of the cerebellopontine angle. In this chapter, the clinical, diagnostic, histopathological, and molecular biology, natural history aspects, as well as the general aspects of the modalities, indications, outcomes, and complications of the different treatments are reviewed and updated. The clinical symptoms, microsurgical technique, and prognosis are related to the size of the tumor. We classify the tumors according to their size following the Matties and Samii, and Koos scales. In this way, the following chapters review the particularities of small, medium, large, or giant vestibular schwannomas, as well as cystic ones. Due to the high incidence and correlation between case load and outcomes, a healthcare organization is necessary for microneurosurgical management of vestibular schwannomas.
