Other Cystic Lesions of the Cerebellopontine Angle
摘要
The most common tumors of the cerebellopontine angle are schwannomas, meningiomas, and epidermoid cyst tumors. In addition to these tumors, the cerebellopontine angle can harbor a wide variety of less common cysts and cystic tumors that are reviewed in this chapter. These tumors tend to grow more frequently in other locations, so their histopathology, characteristics in studies and imaging, and natural history are similar. In this chapter, we systematically review the particularities of these tumors when they grow in the cerebellopontine angle. Special attention is given to the apicitis, cholesterol granuloma, and petrosal apex effusion, which are a few uncommon lesions that are unique to the cerebellopontine angle.
