In this concluding chapter of Ancient African Futures, I aim to recall in summary form some of the main themes that I have introduced and explored in the earlier chapters of this volume whilst focusing mostly on how in my own work, I am orienting towards a desirable future for SCP. This future as with the title for this chapter is from my perspective one that is decolonial, pluriversal and based on a cosmovision. Embracing inclusive, diverse futures, informed by diasporic and indigenous epistemologies, cultures and lived experiences. It occurs to me, and I hope it has been accessible and apparent in my writing to this point, that there is real benefit and value in introducing and exploring appropriate critical ideas, language and theories that encompass the historiographic dimensions of SCP. Moreover, in expanding the awareness and knowledge of current and future curricula, faculties and professional trainees in SCP, introducing and committing to embracing a wider range of socio-economic dimensions of global systems, there is meaning and value. These systems have shaped and continue to shape our human experience of being embodied, relational beings, there is a concrete opportunity to embed a decolonial orientation in the DNA of the SCP international community. This for me is the fundamental ground of our existential experience and is the compelling reason for me to have drawn on an autoethnographic frame of reference throughout much of this volume. I aim to offer in closing my own creative vision for a form of systemic relational therapeutic training that embraces, celebrates, and champions the indigenous cultural diversity, epistemologies, and histories, represented by individuals from African, Arabic, Asian, South East Asian, The America’s, The Caribbean and Oceanic diasporas.
