A Heap-based Automated ICU Bed Allocation Optimization Mechanism for Prioritizing Medical Care
摘要
In the present world, crisis and human suffering have become inevitable due to various global challenges such as pandemics, natural disasters, and conflicts. As these crises unfold, the strain on healthcare systems grows, highlighting the urgent need for effective management of resources, especially in critical care settings. In such times, where access to immediate medical services in hospitals and medical centers is a fundamental right for every citizen, the efficient management of ICU beds becomes paramount. Ensuring that ICU resources are allocated optimally can make the difference between life and death, especially when every second counts. Thus, prioritizing effective ICU bed management is crucial to mitigating the consequences of global emergencies and alleviating human suffering. Conventional mechanisms have often struggled with real-time prioritization and resource management. This manuscript presents a novel heap-based automated ICU bed allocation optimization mechanism to promote efficient patient prioritization. The proposed system employs a max-heap data structure to dynamically allocate ICU beds based on real-time patient severity scores.
