IT Job Market Analysis on E-Recruitment in Vietnam: Comparing Machine Learning Models for Salary Prediction Program
摘要
The Internet has transformed the labor market, making online recruitment vital for modern hiring strategies. Understanding in-demand skills and valuable job attributes is essential for recruiters and candidates. This study analyzes IT-related job postings on the TopCV platform, with a data set of about 2,675 entries collected from November to December 2024. The Chief Technology Officer holds the highest median salary, exceeding 80 million VND monthly. Roles like IT Project Manager, Data Engineer, and Product Manager are highly sought after due to their critical roles in project management, data-driven decision-making, and product management. While senior positions like Technical Manager demand extensive experience and offer the highest salaries, entry-level roles such as Data Engineer and Bridge Engineer are accessible to fresh graduates with stable salaries and growth potential. The IT - Software industry leads in job availability and salaries, highlighting its influence on Vietnam’s job market. The analysis employs five Machine Learning algorithms for salary prediction. XGBoost outperforms the others with the R \(^{2}\) score is 0.5198 and the MAPE is 8.07%, meeting criteria for highly accurate predictions [6]. This model provides valuable information for future estimates of salaries in Vietnam. In contrast, Linear Regression is unsuitable due to its low R \(^{2}\) of 0.2817 and high MAPE of 27.3%. This study provides a quantitative prediction model that differs from previous salary classification studies of India and China [18] [23]. In addition, it provides an overview of the job market and Experimental results table between machine learning models with the latest dataset.
