From Psychological Restoration to Planetary Consciousness: Rethinking Global Citizenship in Times of Polycrisis
摘要
This chapter aims to enrich the discussion on global citizenship by emphasizing the urgency of cultivating planetary consciousness. It proposes the integration of psychological restoration into global citizenship education as a response to today’s interconnected crises. Drawing on environmental psychology, it argues that natural environments enhance emotional balance, resilience, and pro-environmental behavior. Educational approaches developed by Joanna Macy, Chris Johnstone, and Hala Khouri underscore the importance of emotional resilience, empathy, and collective care. Ultimately, the chapter advocates for a holistic pedagogy that connects personal well-being with ecological responsibility, fostering a paradigm shift from individuality to interconnection.
