This article seeks to understand how higher education students conceive and interpret democracy and citizenship. It presents a brief theoretical framework confronted with students’ opinions on several relevant political debates. This chapter combines web scraping tools to collect op-eds and columns written for El Puclítico, a student-run newspaper at UC Chile, from 2017 to the present. It employs conventional qualitative content analysis using the collected articles. The chapter argues that students incorporate some notions of inclusive citizenship, leaving behind citizens’ duties and global citizenship while poorly exercising internal democracy.
