Industrial cyber resilience control systems are crucial for recovering from intrusions and maintaining operational continuity. This chapter focuses on cybersecurity resilience within Industrial Control Systems (ICS), detailing methods to protect these systems from cyberattacks. It explores cyber resilience and defensive techniques, including system hygiene, common cyberattacks, and attack-resilient frameworks for Distributed Energy Resources (DER). The chapter also addresses cybersecurity concerns specific to power systems and SCADA, highlighting AI and machine learning solutions for resilience. Additionally, it examines advances in cyber-physical attack testing and simulation, as well as the role of blockchain technology in enhancing ICS resilience, security, and privacy. Topics covered include IT and ICS security integration, the impact of contemporary ransomware attacks, security control placement, Active Directory, SIEM systems, and SOC recommendations. The chapter concludes with a discussion of the “sliding scale” of cybersecurity, providing readers with a framework to evaluate their security posture.
