A Framework for Understanding the Diversity of the Seaweed Industry
摘要
The seaweed sector is remarkably diverse, a complexity often overlooked by newcomers. This article proposes a simple framework, emphasizing that while global issues like warming waters affect many farmed species, unique problems persist across different species and markets. To better understand global seaweed production, we categorize these challenges along two dimensions: temperate versus tropical seaweeds, and emerging versus established farming regions. This approach aims to elevate conversations among stakeholders, enabling the application of targeted solutions tailored to specific contexts within the diverse seaweed industry.
