In this article, the authors point out the importance of the building that is believed to be the oldest residential building in the town of Kraljevo. This building is known as the Adzic House. This cultural monument is a good example of how the cultural heritage of past times is combined in the best way with contemporary creativity and cultural trends of the present. The Adzic House is an exceptional example of Balkan-style folklore architecture from the first half of the 19th century and has exceptional value for its architectural features considering its age and local significance. The year of construction is questionable: whether it was really built in the first half of the 19th century or in the second half of that century. In 1976, conservation and restoration work was carried out, returning the house to its original appearance. Since March 2001, the employees of the publishing department of the Public Library “Stephen the First Crowned” in Kraljevo and the members of the Kraljevo Book Club have been working on the premises of the Adzic House. The best poetry books in Serbia have been produced at this address for decades.
