Educating Sustainable Practices
摘要
Education can act as a catalyst and powerful tool to transform the world. This chapter explores the role of educational institutions in creating values, skills, and behaviors through curriculum, policies, and different evaluation and pedagogical methods. By focusing on SDG 4 (Quality Education), this clearly explains how different pedagogies lead to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This chapter highlights various theoretical frameworks and case studies which emphasize methods and strategies an educational institution should adopt to create better minds and generation. Furthermore, it discusses the challenges in teaching sustainable practices, policy gaps, and implementation barriers that hinders this and possible solutions for better educational space where sustainability is prioritized. In conclusion, this chapter underscores the necessity of a holistic approach where governments, NGOs, and the private sector collaborate to ensure that future progress is sustainable and equitable.
