This chapter introduces various types of paper-based (PB) gas and humidity sensors and discusses the application areas where they can be used most effectively. It is shown that due to their simplicity of design, flexibility, and low cost, paper sensors with fast response can be used to detect gas vapors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in human exhaled air, which are biomarkers of various diseases, to monitor human respiration and skin moisture, and to develop and manufacture smart diapers. These functions of paper sensors are highly interesting for medical diagnostics and improving the quality of human life.
