The high-performance carbon, Kevlar, glass, and UHMWPE fiber reinforced advanced textile composites are widely used in defence, aerospace, military, sports, automobile, and marine applications due to the exceptional mechanical properties. The study of the mechanical behavior of advanced textile reinforced composites under different loading conditions is beneficial to the composite researchers and industrialists. This article deals with the study of the mechanical behavior of carbon, Kevlar, glass, and UHMWPE textile reinforced composites under dynamic and quasi-static loading conditions. The quasi-static mechanical behavior is discussed in detail under tension, compression, flexural, and interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) loading conditions. The dynamic mechanical behavior is discussed for dynamic mechanical analyzer, high-strain-rate test, low-velocity impact, and bullet impact responses. This chapter also focuses on the factors affecting the mechanical performance and the methods that enhance the mechanical properties of textile-reinforced composites.

摘要
