General Overview of the Civilian and Military EMC Norms
摘要
Electro-Magnetic Compatibility being altogether an absolute functional necessity and a legal or contractual requirement, this chapter is a comprehensive look at military and commercial EMC standards. We start on the famous US MIL-STD-461 with a quick look at the requirements of the most recent “F” and “G” versions. The Emission test set-ups and associated conducted and radiated limits are followed by the Susceptibility tests. We then dive into civilian emission standards with their both rather severe conducted and radiated limits and test methods. Civilian immunity standards are explained, highlighted by an analysis of Immunity requirements of International Electrotechnical Commission Standards (IEC) 61000-4-2, 3, 4, and 5.
