This chapter shows how selecting the right filter, its design and mounting, including a description of the actual source and load impedances. This includes a warning about standard attenuation figures, like those obtained from MIL-STD 220. The number of poles in a filter (that is the number of L, C elements that are cascaded) is discussed relative to a desired attenuation in a given EMI frequency range and by the cut-off frequency (−3 dB point). For low current, signal filtering, feed-through filters, filtered connectors, and mounting guidelines are all explained with appropriate graphs and equations.

摘要

This chapter shows how selecting the right filter, its design and mounting, including a description of the actual source and load impedances. This includes a warning about standard attenuation figures, like those obtained from MIL-STD 220. The number of poles in a filter (that is the number of L, C elements that are cascaded) is discussed relative to a desired attenuation in a given EMI frequency range and by the cut-off frequency (−3 dB point). For low current, signal filtering, feed-through filters, filtered connectors, and mounting guidelines are all explained with appropriate graphs and equations.
