To understand the origin and evolution of the atmosphere and oceans on our planet (the Earth) we need to give some data on our solar system. As we know it is made up by the Sun, eight planets, the asteroid belt and some minor object. Table1.1 give a summary of some of the data relevant to the planets and the Sun.
