Guangdong is one of the provinces with the largest elderly population, presenting significant potential in the silver consumer market. However, the silver economy currently faces a complex landscape characterized by rapid development and structural contradictions between supply and demand. Key issues include insufficient supply of silver products and services, inadequate scientific and technological support, limited financial backing, and lagging policy design and standards. To address these challenges, it is essential to enhance scientific and technological research and development, optimize the supply of silver products and services, strengthen policy frameworks and standards, and advance pension finance to effectively bridge the supply-demand gap in Guangdong’s silver economy.
