The Yellow River basin serves as an important base for mining coal, oil and natural gas, and metals such as copper, iron, and aluminum. However, mining activities in the region have significant environmental consequences, including water pollution, vegetation loss, soil erosion and deterioration, and land subsidence. This chapter will examine the impacts of mining activities and oil production on the environment and the restoration strategies employed for ecological restoration.
