Sub-Saharan Africa continues to face persistent challenges in achieving inclusive and equitable quality education, with the region recording the highest out-of-school population globally. Despite progress in expanding access, millions of children remain excluded due to factors such as poverty, gender inequality, disability, conflict, displacement, and geographical barriers. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated these challenges, leading to widespread school closures and significant learning losses. This chapter examines how sub-Saharan African countries can strengthen educational resilience in the post-pandemic era. It proposes a paradigm shift in education systems through the adoption of responsive curricula, learner-centred pedagogies, proactive educational leadership, and the expansion of distance learning. The integration of both asynchronous and synchronous learning modalities, tailored to the regional context, is emphasised as a pathway to ensuring continuity and equity in education delivery. By promoting these strategies, sub-Saharan Africa can better safeguard learning during crises and move closer to the goal of inclusive, lifelong learning for all.

摘要
