Traditional systems of academic credential and record management suffer from inefficiency, lack of security, and absence of transparency. This paper explores the potential offered by blockchain technology along with advanced computing to alleviate these issues. The decentralized and tamper-proof nature of blockchain is utilized to propose a strong model for secure storage, verification, and sharing of academic credentials. Advanced computing is used to ensure scalability, performance, and adaptability over different academic entities. Several inadequacies such as data integrity issues, managerial wastages and fraud are handled while instigating trust among students, employers, institutions etc. In this model we also provide automated issuances of credentials; real-time verification can be performed as well as user-centric data control. Practical implementation demonstrates the efficacy where significant improvements in time efficiency, cost effectiveness and stake-holder satisfaction were observed.

摘要
