This study explores an innovative partnership between a regional Australian university and a local school to enhance professional development for in-service and pre-service teachers. The project addresses staffing challenges and high attrition rates in regional areas by fostering collaborative mentor-mentee relationships and co-designing professional development activities. Using a mixed-methods approach, the study examines the efficacy of shared professional development in improving mentoring capabilities and classroom readiness. Findings indicate that the collaboration enhances teacher confidence, supports mutual learning, and improves student outcomes (in this case, with an enhanced focus on numeracy). The study highlights the potential of university-school partnerships to drive meaningful pedagogical change and foster sustainable employment for early career teachers.

摘要
