Summary of Cardiac Chamber Quantification in Adults by Echocardiography
摘要
The evaluation of cardiac chamber size and function is essential part of any echocardiography, which is the most commonly used cardiac imaging modality. As the size and function of the cardiac chambers are important for clinical decision making, this method of quantification should be standard and be based on the latest recommendations. In this chapter, we have summarized the correct measurement of the size and function of the cardiac chambers, Aorta, and Inferior Vena Cava based on the ASE chamber quantification guideline published in 2015 and adding race and ethnicity differences on cardiac size and function based on recent studies from a large multi center international project called World Alliance of Societies of Echocardiography (WASE) Study.
