Clinical Trials in Lung Cancer
摘要
Clinical trials are an important and innovative choice for lung cancer treatment. Many people are unaware of this, or do not know that enrolling in a clinical trial might be a therapeutic option for them. Lung cancer navigators are trusted individuals who can help guide patients through gathering information and deciding what treatment choices align with their values and goals of care. Navigators can effectively educate patients about available trials by understanding how clinical trials operate, recognize the common fears, and mistrust surrounding clinical research. By applying a shared decision-making model to improve communication about clinical trials, navigators can bridge the gap between current standards of practice and innovative, cutting-edge treatments.
