Despite significant advances in Software Architecture (SA) research over the past three decades, questions remain about its impact on industry practices. This study examines how practitioners perceive the relevance of SA research by conducting interviews with 12 experienced professionals who evaluated 96 papers published at the European Conference on Software Architecture (ECSA) over the last decade. Most of the interviewed practitioners rated SA research as necessary due to its potential application in solving practical issues in practice. However, criticisms included a lack of generalizability, limited added value beyond existing tools and practices, and an overemphasis on context-specific solutions. These findings emphasize the need for research that is both applicable and adaptable to diverse industrial contexts, thereby enhancing the practical value and impact of SA research.

摘要
