A Magnificent and Irresistible Decoy: The Search for Happiness

To truly understand the deep-seated reasons for our inability to rationally, reasonably, and effectively address the environmental crisis, we must be aware of the psychological determinants that shape our behaviors. At the heart of this issue is our universal quest for happiness and our misguided conceptions about it. Here, I present empirical studies by psychologists and economists on happiness, particularly analyzing the complexity of the relationship between consumption levels and happiness.
