This scholarly article investigates the innovative application of the city-building video game “Cities: Skylines” as a tool for traffic analysis and urban planning. The study provides a comprehensive examination of how this detailed simulation game can offer valuable insights into traffic patterns, city layouts, and infrastructure development. This paper focuses on the examination of transport networks and transport infrastructure in the created virtual cities in Europe and the USA. By comparing fictional European and North American urban designs, the paper highlights various city planning approaches and their impacts on traffic flow and citizen satisfaction. Last but not least, it compares the game urban planning to real urban planners.
