Psychological Safety and Employee Engagement: The Mediating Role of Employee Voice
摘要
The research explores the relationship between psychological safety and employee engagement focusing on the mediating role of employee voice. A quantitative approach was employed. 385 respondents were considered for the study. Data were gathered using established scales to measure psychological safety, employee voice, and work engagement. Respondents are employees of IT (Information Technology) companies in Infopark, Kochi. The hypotheses were tested with Structural equation model. Test results showed that employee voice partially mediated the relationship between psychological safety and employee engagement. Employee engagement is driven through two important factors—psychological safety and employee voice. This shows necessity of making a workplace where employees are free to put forward their ideas and share their opinions. The safety that employees feel can greatly influence how engaged they are in the workplace. The results have real-world implications for those in organizations looking to reinforce engagement by improving their teams’ sense of psychological safety as well as employees’ voice.
