Title-The Impact of Market Volatility, Risk Tolerance, and Return Expectations on Cryptocurrency Investment Intentions

Investment in cryptocurrencies is one of the major investment opportunity present in India today. Since investment is always influenced by risk and return, the investors always prefer to maximize the overall gain by balancing risk and return. The investment decision is influenced by demographic as well as financial factors. While studying available literature, it is found that sufficient research has been done in terms of factors influencing the investment intention in traditional financial investments. However limited studies have investigated this impact for cryptocurrency investment intention. Considering the faster acceptance and adoption of cryptocurrencies, availability of multiple platforms, highly volatile nature of cryptocurrency, it is essential to study the factors influencing in intention to invest in cryptocurrency. This research study attempts to evaluate the impact of three independent variables-market volatility, risk tolerance and return expectation on intention of investors to invest in cryptocurrencies. The survey was conducted through email during the period September to October 2024 and received 340 completed questionnaires out of 600 distributed, and subsequently excluded 17 responses due to incomplete data. The final sample consisted of 326 valid responses. The summary statistics, Cronbach’s alpha (α) values are calculated using SPSS v23 SOFTWARE. The same software is used for normality check. The outcome of this study helps to gain valuable insights on different aspects in cryptocurrency investment intentions.
