This chapter explores Authorial Reflexivity, where researchers acknowledge that they can only perceive the world from their own vantage point and embrace this subjectivity as a valuable form of knowledge. The researcher is positioned as a storyteller who openly presents their situated, partial perspectives as one of many possible stories. The chapter examines self-exploration strategies, including introspection, embodied knowing, emotional awareness, and creative expression through writing and arts-based methods. Key methodologies discussed include autoethnography (individual and collaborative), heuristic research, and arts-based research. These emphasise the researcher’s presence and subjective experience as legitimate sources of knowledge. Practical applications are explored across research phases, from identifying personally meaningful research problems to engaging with participants and analysing autobiographical data. Authorial Reflexivity values imagination, creativity, and vulnerability in research processes. Reflexive journalling, supervision, and artistic methods can all be used to deepen self-awareness. Rather than seeking universal truths or attempting to bracket subjectivity, researchers using Authorial Reflexivity celebrate their originality and uniqueness whilst maintaining rigorous self-examination. Trustworthiness is established through internal saturation, as researchers thoroughly explore their perspectives, values, and assumptions to articulate how their findings express their situated viewpoint.

摘要
