This chapter presents the empirical results of a study on the use of WhatsApp by diplomats from CARICOM and the Sixth Committee of the United Nations. The research is based on real exchanges within WhatsApp groups, and the chapter includes anonymized data to ensure privacy and ethics compliance. Quantitative data reveal the number of messages, levels of participation, and patterns of communication among delegates. Graphs and tables illustrate who contributes most and how information circulates within the group. The findings show a strong correlation between digital participation and leadership roles within the groups. The chapter also highlights technical, social, and linguistic factors that influence digital engagement. It provides a concrete view of how WhatsApp shapes daily interactions in multilateral forums and raises questions about digital diplomacy’s inclusiveness, equality, and effectiveness.
