Emerging Technologies in Clinical Trials: Deepfakes and Digital Twins
摘要
Deepfakes and digital twins are two new technologies which will change the face of clinical trials in this modern arena. While deepfakes enable creating realistic and immersive simulations, suitable for the training of healthcare professionals and modeling clinical scenarios, digital twins would offer an individualized and exact approach required for monitoring and optimizing treatments. This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) presents such technological innovations in clinical trials which stand at an interesting crossroads, combining the core applications and advantages, presenting challenges for wider applied research in this domain and associated patient care. In conjunction with this, a few such ethical and technical issues involved would definitely be personal data protection, simulation security, and how assured the results generated through digital can be. Putting together the powers of deepfakes and digital twins, it is possible to foresee how clinical trials may undergo a sea change to make experiments safer, faster, and more personalized. However, robust regulatory frameworks will need to be developed for these technologies to ensure their successful and ethical integration into clinical processes.
