Understanding Health Literacy and Communication Among the Moroccan Population
摘要
This study examines the crucial role of health and e-health literacy in Morocco, highlighting the impact of digital health information access amidst challenges such as linguistic diversity and limited digital literacy. Health literacy, encompassing the ability to access, comprehend, and utilize health information, is integral to improving patient-provider communication and healthcare outcomes. In Morocco, language barriers, particularly in rural areas where Moroccan Arabic and Amazigh coexist, impede effective health communication. Additionally, low health literacy rates and insufficient digital literacy further exacerbate healthcare challenges. The study underscores the importance of culturally adapted health literacy tools to bridge these significant gaps. By integrating digital literacy and communication training into healthcare systems, Morocco can enhance the accessibility and understanding of health information, thereby fostering better health behaviors and outcomes. The development of context-sensitive, culturally appropriate assessment tools is essential to address the unique needs of Morocco’s diverse population and improve overall healthcare quality.
