Digital Technology and the Crop Calendar for Efficient Agriculture in West Africa
摘要
Crop planning is an important activity for players within the agricultural sector, involving the consideration of several parameters. However, with climate change, there have been significant changes that have meant that most farmers do not have a firm grasp of the agricultural calendar. There is also the inaccessibility of a precise crop calendar, which has consequences for agricultural productivity. This study presents a review of the literature on agrarian calendars. The aim is to understand what already exists in terms of research with a view to setting up a complete system that will enable universal access to agricultural calendars for populations such as those in West Africa based on digital technologies. To do this, we carried out a bibliometric review by extracting data from the Scopus database and then conducted a study of existing platforms providing free access to digital calendars for farmworkers with free access to digital calendars. Based on the results of these reviews, we proposed a complete digital system to provide farmers with agricultural calendars for efficient agriculture in West Africa.
