Towards an Efficient Framework for Risk Assessment of Personal Data Protection in Mobile IoT
摘要
The rapid advancement of microelectronics and the integration of smart devices are Impacting the digital transformation of mobile Internet of Things (IoT). This evolution is joined by significant vulnerabilities concerning personal data protection, often resulting from the diversity of technologies and communication protocols, as well as non-compliance with international standards. This paper introduces an innovative approach for risk assessment that combines both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The qualitative review has identified and analyzed fifteen risk management frameworks, while the quantitative approach utilized statistical data to evaluate the criticality of each risk and its correlation with integration into specific frameworks. Our findings indicate that combining the CSA IoT Security Controls Framework with the NIST Privacy Framework provides an ideal solution for risk assessment, enhancing security and privacy in mobile IoT. This integrated assessment method, addressing the growing need for data protection in a technologically complex environment, makes a significant contribution to the field of cybersecurity and personal data protection.
