In this chapter presents new themes that appeared to be significant for Otef residents based on deep analysis of their interviews and the social media posts that residents created after October 7th. We gave the three new issues these names: (1) “The new world of October 7th”—that led to a world of chaos, uncertainty and existential threat; (2) “We will never be whole without them—the hostages”—the centrality of the hostage issue among Otef Aza residents; and (3) “Something in my DNA changed”—that related to transformations in people’s personal and collective identity.
