Authentic Dialogic Cultural Synthesis Decolonial Theorising (ADCSDT) is our intervention for pluriversal knowledge production, as a contribution towards transforming the university in South Africa. The contemporary polycentric but capitalist world is being ordered by the Western enlightenment ego-politics of knowledge that Anibal Quijano framed as coloniality and modernity/rationality. Coloniality is the darker side of compliance theorising (which is captured in the sovereign pre-understanding and anticipated meaning ring fence). Control of knowledge and control of the economy impressed us to be the leading colonial matrices of power locking out other options to compliance theorising. This analytical desktop research chapter uses a case of research output in the Department of Development studies to interrogate the type of theorising that is prevalent. The main finding was that compliance research is dominant. This chapter recommends that ADCSDT, our own innovative critical fusion of Paulo Freire and the family of decolonial analyses, is an intervention that can propel transforming theorising in a university that is situated in murky waters of the state and the market in a liquid apartheid world. We believe that ADCSDT has the potential to achieve durable options for pluriversal theorising compared to the solipsistic dismantleists interventions.
