Novel Potential of ASCs-Derived Exosomes Toward Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
摘要
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are widely recognized mediators in intercellular communication. Between the different EV subgroups, exosomes present unique features, clinical and therapeutical applications, even toward cancer. Breast cancer is one of the most common malignancies worldwide. The tumor core and its surrounding tissues play within a complex, orchestrated interaction that facilitates, most of the time, cancer’s proliferation and growth. In this book chapter, the authors reported in a descriptive way the most valuable PubMed Literature about EVs and adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) exosomes, to analyze their biological properties and potential applications, in particular toward the triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). ASCs exosomes represent a potential tool to target the TNBC, its microenvironment, and surrounding tissues including metastasis. Hence, the authors highlight the possibility to test in vitro ASCs-derived exosomes on TNBC cells, to develop in the near future a novel therapeutic approach against TNBC able to potentially act as preconditioning therapy while the traditional neoadjuvant treatments are running.
