Volumetric assessments utilizing three-dimensional surface imaging are widely employed in the field of plastic surgery. Several methods for three-dimensional surface imaging have been introduced, including stereophotogrammetry, structured light scanning, or laser scanning principles. The methods allow precise volumetric assessments of various body parts, including the facial region, the breast, and the extremities. This chapter aims to provide an overview of the clinical application of three-dimensional surface imaging for volumetric assessments and its applicability, as well as its limitations in plastic surgery.

摘要

Volumetric assessments utilizing three-dimensional surface imaging are widely employed in the field of plastic surgery. Several methods for three-dimensional surface imaging have been introduced, including stereophotogrammetry, structured light scanning, or laser scanning principles. The methods allow precise volumetric assessments of various body parts, including the facial region, the breast, and the extremities. This chapter aims to provide an overview of the clinical application of three-dimensional surface imaging for volumetric assessments and its applicability, as well as its limitations in plastic surgery.
