Anti-aging Concepts: Adipose Tissue as a Therapeutic Target in Anti-aging Medicine
摘要
The global population is aging rapidly, with the number of individuals aged 60 and older expected to double by 2050. This demographic shift poses significant challenges to healthcare systems worldwide. Adipose tissue has emerged as a promising therapeutic target in anti-aging medicine due to its involvement in chronic inflammation and cellular senescence. A plethora of interventions, including modulation of adipose tissue composition, dietary adjustments, physical exercise, and senolytic therapies, are being explored for their potential to improve metabolic health and promote healthy aging. In addition, novel approaches such as gene therapy, heterochronic parabiosis, and the use of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells and exosomes represent promising anti-aging avenues. These strategies aim to enhance adipose tissue function, mitigate age-related diseases, and extend human longevity.
